A Heart in Self-Defense Mode : A random 3am thought turned monologue
How does it feel to live like this?
Like what?๐
In the sense — being a human, living around fellow human beings with zero trust in mankind and in humanity.
No, I am not joking. Sometimes knowing too much isn't right. C'mon, when did I ask for life lessons? Don't we all just want love and peace, but all we get to be is the bigger person, have more life lessons, and lots of fear to live with — to an extent that you have to spend the most part of your life living on the edge, with any person you meet, in a fear that any moment they might leave or change in all the worst ways — so that you finally get a chance to say, "Of course, I already knew it. This was bound to happen." It's funny how we just learn to expect the worst, so that we don't completely shatter when life hits on our door with another traumatic lesson..
Living a life of detachment is good, but with this intensity — really?๐
Not our fault really, because every time we have put our trust in someone, the universe has worked in all mischievous ways to teach us how it was one of the most stupid decisions of our lives. Though it's fine and I don't mind living like this — after all, that's our heart's saviour from the cruelty of this world. If we don't protect it, then who will?
What's significant here is that I have realized that this world is a stage, our lives a play, and we mere characters in the hands of the divine powers. I am genuinely grateful for how life always turns out in the end and all my life lessons. There's always a silver lining to look for, even in the darkest of the clouds — but at what costs?
Life events, I believe, just take away the innocence and naivety of a pure, soft heart — that's all it does. The only thing you don't get back afterwards is your softness and vulnerability...
“If every lesson costs a piece of your soul — is wisdom really worth it?”๐ญ๐
Somewhere between softness and healing , maybe we all grow up. What are your thoughts on this?๐ฌ
